Inside Design – Tracker Studio

JW Tek recently took part in the new logo design for Tracker Studio.

About Tracker Studio

Since 2007 Tracker Studio has striven to create intuitive systems that allow businesses to run smoother and more efficiently by using technology to enhance their positions.  Making a vision become a reality that benefits everyone who uses it gave us the vision to become an app incubator where any person or business can have their ideas flourish and not just land – so that you too can find your next level.

Our designer Katie managed this design and this blog post will walkthrough her design process, a later post will discuss how the logo was developed in Adobe Illustrator.

KICK OFF

First, I had Quentin answer a google form questionnaire that gives me a general idea of the direction he would like the logo to go and his expectations. Because Tracker Studio has worked on a wide variety of projects: from exercise apps for teens to inventory systems, we wanted to create a logo that would fit the theme of Tracker Studio, rather than fit a specific field. We discussed his style and determined the logo should be modern and clean, with a rustic color scheme. Other than that, Quentin gave me full creative freedom.

BEGINNING SKETCHES

As I was sketching Quentin came up with an idea he liked – arrows. So I went from there and I sent him some mock-ups. (different colors, spacing, and fonts)

Ultimately Quentin liked the green Tracker Studio logo with a few modifications the final logo is shown below. A flat design was used instead of the gradient. The font is ‘Fira Sans‘ from Google Fonts.
